La Nigra Rubando | Black Ribbon, wideo Full HD, 14'16''

2026

Blue, peaceful sky and a wide frame encompassing a rural, mountainous landscape. The video documents an action using a drone. La nigra rubando means black ribbon in Esperanto. The title of the work was taken from the language created by Ludwik Zamenhof (1859–1917) — a Polish Jew, a visionary and creator of a universal, international system of communication.

The black ribbon is lifted into the air by an unmanned aircraft. Its movement against the cloudless sky is a gesture of mourning, while at the same time signalling the proximity of war and anxiety about the future.
