Mirrors, series of objects and photographs
2016
Mirrors are objects with an imperfectly smooth, black surface in the form of ovals and circles. They served as a tool for observing my own present and the space in which I lived between 2011 and 2016. In their reflections, I documented the interior of my room and everyday situations in which various objects or figures appeared.
Through the distortion of the mirror surface, created by applying successive layers of lacquer, the objects acquired an irregular texture that warped the reflected image. The mirrors were paired with a series of photographs capturing brief moments, yet transformed as though seen through the lens of an eye.
