The exhibition State of Matter is a record of a creative process grounded in everyday life. Mirrors is a series of five objects with smooth, black surfaces, covered with thin layers of lacquer. Their minimalist, simple forms function as lenses through which reality is viewed—the space of a room in which the artist lived and worked.

In the photographic series, we see reflections of her private world: afterimages of the interior and the perspective from which the artist observes her daily life. The inclusion of this personal viewpoint is both a conscious decision and invitation for the viewers into attentive participation in the process.

This motif is further developed in the work Curtain and the accompanying video piece, which documents the process. The work consists of a black fabric gradually covered with fine bead embroidery. It is presented at an early stage of its creation—at a moment when only small sections of the material have been densely embroidered with beads.

The labor-intensive nature of the embroidery, as well as the significance of each second, minute, and hour, becomes perceptible through the contemplative video, as a part of the work.
