Magdalena Ciemierkiewicz – visual artist born in 1992 in Podkarpacie (PL). The key in her work is the personal experience. She comes from the Polish-Ukrainian borderland. She touches on topics such as the multidimensional identity of the borderland, women’s stories, and the intermingling of cultures and forms of spirituality.
She uses a variety of media, such as installation, video, light and sound, combining them with traditional forms such as fabric, ceramics, painting, and printmaking.
She graduated with a Master’s degree from the Faculty of Painting (2016) and completed the Pedagogical Study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2014). She has completed postgraduate studies at the Art Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2020) and is currently a PhD candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
